Armstrong’s Amazons the answer
When the Great Eastern Hotel needed a small load laundry Armstrong Commercial Laundry Systems recommended three Amazon Laundry Centres as the ideal solution to space and ventilation problems. Each Laundry Centre comprises a 6.5 kg Schulthess washer extractor and a stacking 150 litre (20) lb tumble dryer.
The laundry handles a very wide variety of work: staff uniforms, face cloths, staff towels, shower curtains, net curtains and a variety of cleaning and polishing cloths. New hand towels and bath mats are given their first wash and the laundry also looks after the belts of bathrobes – ‘We keep better track of them than an outside laundry’ says Head Linen Keeper Maria Otero.
The laundry works 14 or 15 hours a day, six days a week with a team of five people. ‘The equipment works very hard, it’s quiet and delivers excellent results – just like our team’ says Maria ‘and from the initial training to the one time we called on them, Armstrong’s service has been first class.’
