A great many educational establishments whether residential or not, have some requirement for laundry. At Armstrong we have decades of experience in advising on exactly the right combination of equipment for any situation.
A launderette is a vital service on a university or college campus or in a hall of residence where there is a large community of students, generally living in single room units. The equipment in such units will often get even harder wear than an average high street launderette as they are generally unattended and can be in use many hours through the day and night.
Obviously boarding schools have a range or requirements from bedding, towels, dining room and kitchen items through to pupils and staff’s personal clothing and games kit. At Armstrong we often supply schools that have two or three small laundries – one in each of the girls’ and boy’s changing rooms where muddy games kit can be washed as it is taken off and another laundry in the residential block for bedding and personal clothing.
Many day schools install a small laundry to handle games kit.
Whether day or boarding, special schools will share the requirements of mainstream schools but may have additional requirements for compliance in handling soiled items.
Armstrong re-equip the laundries at St Stephen’s House in Oxford which house post-graduate students.
